The department is committed to supporting PhD students for the duration of their studies. For the first year, top entering students are offered a fellowship financial package comprised of an annual stipend (approximately $30K), tuition remission (10 credits each semester), and access to subsidized employee health benefits. Subsequent years' support is renewed with satisfactory academic and research progress, and is typically provided from faculty advisor research funds in the form of a Graduate Research Assistantship with the same fringe benefits described above.
